Arrow 24 Hour of LEMONS AT MAM

Coming to MAM next weekend with some local scca drivers making appearances. I will be as i have been all season crewing.

But you have to love the penalties that will be enforced.

Default Fun

I was there on saturday to watch a couple of my SCCA buddies compete see what it was like. Everyone involved in it had a blast. The comments I heard from the our scca drivers was positive. They had a great time bringing back the "FUN" in racing. If you screwed up you were penalized on the spot. Penalties? They were a hoot.

Passing under yellow got a competitor and his crew to the penalty box to either write in grease pen 200 times "I will not pass under yellow" on their race car.

Or their balaclava dipped in a rancid bait bucket. Even the Lemons punishers didn't want to go near that damn thing. No one suffered this.

Going 4 wheels off? They brought this poor guy in and forced him and his crew to put on pink underwear and tshirts that said "criminal scum" on the back. The driver and 4 crew members were forced to wear a long plastic chain around their necks like a chain gang, walk the paddock and in front of the grandstands with a lemons organizer behind them with a megaphone yelling "Theirs no excuse for 4 wheels off" Over and over to get the point across. They also had to find a road cone, paint it in chrome paint, and then the punishers drilled holes in their roof to mount the chrome horn, duct taped "SHAME" on the side of the car in hot pink, THEN they could go back out. Sorry Jim it was a third gen firebird. Probably the fastest car of the event

I think this same car had car to car contact with someone, I heard the driver and crew were shrink wrapped with signs of "loser" and other insulting sign put on their necks and sat for a period of time.

I heard a penalty of taking the drivers keys and putting them in a sack full of 200 other keys only to be found would get them back on track.

The organizers however are smart and welcome bribes in misc forms to be excused from any penalties. However they spray painted "bribed" on the side of your car.

I heard the winner won $1500. IN BAGS OF NICKELS. I heard that weighs over 400 pounds.

This is our track manager who entered this car and I believe some of the MAM employees got to experience a race. Jimmy (track manager) aka "Road Kill" had to do the pink underwear and tshirt and do the walk of shame as well.
