Default WGI Super Tour

Just a few thoughts.

What an amazing weekend. Perfect weather at, in my opinion, the greatest race track in North America. The place just rocks and so did Danny R on Saturday. There were two AS races on Saturday. The one Danny won and the other AS race for the rest of the cars. Danny put on a clinic on how to race WGI. Pole, Fast Lap, TR and win. Congrats. Hey Danny, I think I want my solder back

Sunday was a bit different, Danny had pole but went out after 2 laps. I led with Amy on my bumper for about 5 laps until I blew T10 and she got by me and was able to hold me off and the race ended under double yellow. Amy, amazing drive in a really good car!!!

I can't believe I am still learning stuff after doing this for 18 years but I learned more this past weekend than I have in a long time.

That's my take for what it is worth.

Philip

Philip,
Congratulations to all of you. I watched on line, such as it was, but think I have to do WG next year. It was the second track I visited, after Bridgehampton, when I was 14 or 15 in high school in N.Y. 1959.

Phil
Thank you for your kind words. You and Amy both drove your butts off and made serious gains. But to finish first you must first finish and we are going to try and fix these issues. Hope to see everyone at VIR in October.

I'll buy you some more solder hahahaha

If I get motivated I will post some video. James J got spun in the bus stop right in front of me. Bit exciting and the starts are always a treat at WGI. Jim, you really need to go. The place is hard on cars. WGI has the highest suspension loads of any track I have driving. It can be very hard on tires.

Want to give some shout outs to the AS drivers who fought their cars all weekend.
Mark wheaton worked late each day and made both grids
Jason Smith. Broke a rf shock before the race on sunday and pushed that car for everything it had!
Jimmy jost for getting slammed on the start and still making a podium
Tom lane for beating his power steering carb and wheel bearing issues to make both grids!
Amy with her master cylinder problems on Saturday then coming back for a win on sunday!
Beth..... actually didn't break anything I think. Lol
And to Greg who lost an engine but always pushes everyone to try and keep up!
Parts were swapped. Knowledge was shared... it was AS in all it's glory!
