Wiring

We're re-wiring the car a bit this weekend. I have a painless wiring panel that I was intending to use.

I know that the wiring rule was changed. We are not restricted to running the stock wiring and fuze block anymore, yes?

Thanks.

SS ..

Did you ever find out the answer to this? I have a 3rd gen (IROC) that if I can make it run without messing with all those wires it might help me get further along and needless to say simplify my life a bit.

thanks..

Jorge

According to the GCR 17.1.7.D.8.J (ASCS)

"Removal of wiring associated with a component which may be removed by these rules is permitted. All non-essential wiring may be removed. Existing wiring may be substituted."

Therefore, you can use any wiring scheme that you wish.

thanks Brian ...

electrical is not my thing but it needs to get done. Are there any "standard" or simple, tried and true methods to wiring these cars?

My car was already wired when purchased. I don't have any specific suggestions....maybe someone could chime in with their personal experience.

You could probably order a fuse block out of Summit to get you started. I don't think you would need more than 10 sockets or so to complete the car.

ok .. great suggestion .. I will look at my catalogs and see what I can come up with.
