The orange Mustang ain't so orange anymore

The first thing I have to say is the guy that does my body work was not so impressed with Kyle's body work, so I let him replace the driver's side door and quarter panel.

Anyway, coming up with a paint scheme to work with all that orange was tough but I always thought the old Gulf GT40s were pretty cool.

All of the pictures can be found at http://public.fotki.com/OmahaBuff/race-car-repair-2009/

The car is at the decal shop, I'm going old school with white meatballs for the numbers. Not too many more items to finish up before the car is ready for the track.

Yeah, you get to thank the Idiot in the Viper trying to come across pit out at 25MPH at topeka for that... complete disbelief on that one... last race before the runoffs... ugh:mad:... Jim remembers his name - from St. Louis I think...

I kinda like the baby blue, kinda :D I sure do miss that car....

I didn't realize you did so much frame rail damage in the carousel at topeka... Good looking fix...

The car looks awesome! I love the vintage paint!

Wheel, Kyle

Whats the prize for the first tire swirl on that pretty paint job. We can't have that pretty of an AS car in midiv. Its against class philsophy.

Looks awesome Tim

And thank you for not painting it green. :o

BTW Kyle. I think that viper driver now has TWO vipers now... I could be wrong

Doug, the owner of Auto Kraft (the body shop), kept asking me how hard I hit. I kept telling him it wasn't a very hard hit but he wasn't buying it. I was smart and didn't do anything silly like a two-stage paint, I am sure it will need to be repaired again.

Tim,
Fabulous! Love it. Ted, everyone throw $50 in the kitty. First swirl, that doesn't result in DQ or fisticuffs, takes it.

That is why the car will be in the World of Wheels show before it hits the track, one shot at being a show car.

Green and orange. :censored: Where is the puke emoticon?

Tim,
I don't know if you trashed your headlight assemblies when you hit. But, remember, if you did, you don't have to go out and buy all new stuff. You just have to cover the holes with a solid panel the same shape.

Can I jump in and ask what happened with this Viper encounter?
